Dear friends,

We are getting close to the end of the year and the time has come to bring you some gifts and to sum up our situation. We should add several things to the Mistica package. They have been gathered lately, what has caused some congestion. What can not be published for the 31st of December, will be published... for Twelfth Night : -)

In the website of Funredes, you will find:

- A page where all the Christmas or Happy New Year wishes have been placed. We won't send them to the list but we invite you to have a look in (in Spanish):

- The second version of doc-Saman�, illustrated with multimedia ingredients (in Spanish):

- The updating of the statistics on the Mistica CV (first we will send you a note and then, on Twelfth Night, we will place a page in the website).

- Something new (but not so new anymore) is the restructuring of the website using database systems (PostgreSQL and PHP). We only have a few days of corrections ahead of us before we consider it officially finished and offer it to your critical evaluation...

- Concerning the languages, we are gradually making the Portuguese, French English versions level with the Spanish version.

- With this note, we will start sending bearing accent messages to the list, since it seems that everybody receives them well.

-We still have to organize the "clearinghouse", a task that will begin with a tremendous work on thematic bibliography done by Irene Plaz for us. This is a challenge for the next coming months .

- We still have to stabilize the EMEC process and will request you an evaluation to consider what kind of evolution should be found for this experiment. You will get it in a few weeks. - Finally, as you already know, we want to proceed to a reorientation of the conduction so as to have the VC be more proposing and keener on actions. Soon, we will answer your questions, we will develop all about the proposals, and we will start again the process.

Before following the curse of the next coming months where we will indeed change the focus from reflection toward action and communication ("clearinghouse"), we consider that it is the right moment to look backward and to assess the situation.

For this, we will invite you, at the beginning the year 2000, to make an evaluation. But it won't be "one more evaluation", it will be more than that: a global evaluation of the project in the middle of its itinerary. The results will influence the orientation of the project.

We hope with great interest that you will fill it in. Knowing that you consider yourselves as part of the project, we would like you to spend a few minutes of your time to offer it to the community. We need your perceptions in order to continue improving the process. Thank you in advance.

As we are so swamped with the Mistica calendar, it avoids us the dilemma of knowing if the Christian calendar should be imposed to everybody, and so if we should invent some historical words on the end of the millennium.

Enough with the end of the one year-old Mistica, we need to fulfil our tasks : -)
