Mistica in figures

Date: Wed, 29 Dec 1999 16:32:10 -0400
From:Mistica Coordination<[email protected]>

WARNING: THE FOLLOWING IS A NON EDITED MACHINE TRANSLATION FROM THE ORIGINAL IN SPANISH

For the Kings: -) we will organize the second version web of the statistic. Meanwhile we offer the figures to final of 1999 for this road, with some comments:

- SUSCRIBED
256 have been subscribed and 52 came out, they are 204 suscribed

Comment: in fact most of the exits are technical (personal that leaves the project, changes of addresses or exit storm). it should be but of 20 people that have decided to leave the VC, in majority after a very brief time of ownership. In short, you are quite faithful: -) and we thank it to him.

- DISTRIBUTION FOR SEX
65% of masculine sex and 35% of feminine sex

Comment: The figure seems to be coherent with the global figure of presence in the Internet; we don't know if it is different in ALC.

- YOU PAGINATE PERSONAL IN THE DIRECTORY
30% with personal pages

Comment: We have not been able to convince most of the importance of being identified in the breast of the group. We remember the questions that it is necessary to respond there (and to send to [email protected]) to stuff the you paginate personal:
Who am?
Is reason interested to the topic?
What expectation do I have of this experiment?

- DISTRIBUTION FOR COUNTRIES OF THE REGION AND OTHER REGIONS

AFRICA 1
Argentina 25
Bolivia 4
Brazil 8
FRENCH SPEAKING CARIBBEAN 10
ENGLISH SPEAKING CARIBBEAN 1
Chile 11
Colombia 10
Costa Rica 5
Cuba 3
Dominican Republic 17
Ecuador 8
EUROPE 14
Guatemala 3
Honduras 4
Mexico 27
Nicaragua 2
North America 28
Paraguay 3
Peru 9
Salvador 3
Uruguay 2
Venezuela 31
MISTICA TEAM 17
ORG INTERN. 6
???? 4
TOTAL 256

For sub-region:
CENTRAL AMERICA: 17
BRAZIL: 8
CARIBBEAN: 31
SOUTH CONE: 41
PACT ANDEAN: 36

Comment: We have not been able to attract enough people from Brazil neither neither of the English Caribbean... in spite of the effort of translation. To improve this situation is one of our tasks for the period to come.

- CONTRIBUTIONS
People's that have contributed number: 70.00 (27%)
Number average of taxes for contributores: 7.8
Number average of taxes for suscrit@s: 2.5
Total number of taxes: 545
Maximum number of taxes for participants: 47
Number average of taxes per day: 1.8

Comment: A contribution average between 1 and 2 per day is a very appreciable result. We believe that if he/she goes under 0.25 it could mark an indifference and if he/she goes up of 3 it can become a nuisance. We find a figure again of about 30% for subscribed people that they have been expressed. It is a figure above the norms of the lists but neither we cannot qualify ourselves of very participativas. We would like to improve this figure. Some suggestions?

- PYRAMID OF AGE
<25 25 9.8%
26-30 44 17.2%
31-35 33 12.9%
36-40 54 21.1%
41-45 39 15.2%
46-50 30 11.7%
51-55 17 6.6%
> 56 10 3.9%
? 4 1.6%

Comment: We find very representative this distribution, and we are happy of having but of 25% of people of inferior age to 30 years and but of 50% of people of inferior age at 38.

SUBSCRIPTION FOR LANGUAGE
Castellano 244
English 24
French 15
Portuguese 2
They notice that the total is superior to the Number of participants because subscriptions are accepted in several languages. Only 11 people are not subscribed in Castilian!

Comment: without a doubt a deception if one measures the great effort that you this making to maintain the multilinguismo... The customs are difficult to lose: we will try first to invite more people of non Hispanic speech and of course we will try to promote the subscription in the maternal language of people.

OTHER FIGURES DE "AFTER OF THE WEB" (APPROXIMATE):
- Number of you paginate in the web:
> 500
- Volume of the web:
> 50MB (10% for the memory of the VC)
- Hits number in the web Mistica from the beginning:
> 500,000
- Hits number per day at the moment:
> 2000
- Number of mail exchanged by the coordinator in connection with this project:
> 5000 (30% informal relationship with suscrit@s, 25% coordination, 15% EMEC, 10% tax in the VC, 20 other%).
- Number of documents that have been edited in connection with this project (without counting the documents that traffic in the VC):
> 200
- People's that participate laborly of the project number (without counting the meeting of Saman but including solidary supports):
> 20 (50 occasional%).

Comment: Pierre Calame, the head of the FPH, wrote a work document a while ago with the I title The most important thing this in the kitchen". to emphasize the organization necessity and logistics so that a project is efficient. Those figures give them an idea of what passes in the kitchen Mistica: -).

We would love to know but of what passes in the table of the dining room: how many contacts of after the curtain, how many encounters, how many created projects, how many friendships... (and of course not alone in I finish quantitative) because in short if what passes in the kitchen is it but decisive for those that share the banquet, for those of the kitchen him but important it is what you/they say and they make the companies and like they feel...

If these figures motivate them some comments they don't doubt to share them in the VC...
