Some days ago we made an international call to protest against brutal measures in Haiti causing the lost one from access to most of the users of the Internet.

That it passed in connection with this painful situation from this date? Any progress. Also, we have the sensation that alone an international pressure will be able to cause changes, because at national level an exhaustion of the efforts is noticed.

- The closed company (ACN) opening a trial is now after having tried to use the reconciliation, their clients and the stockings successively in against the organ regulator and under then the public profile. The cancellation newly of most of their employees it seems a sign of their pessimism on a short term possible arrangement.

- The ISPs that were in function doesn't have the capacity to receive the demand of the clients of ACN (80% of the market) and then most of the users were without access, in particular the students of the University of Haiti.

- There were pubic protests of political personalities as well as of the defenders of the free company. However, people seem to lower the arms now.

- There were agreements between the organisms regulators and the other ISPs, trying, with certain success, of dividing to avoid a solidary front of the ISPs. It seems that there is not an intervention form in the market very compatible with the free competition.

- Many articles of the local press have commented the case, as well as warnings paid by the company ACN. Equally at level of the portals. However, the topic loses now of its validity.

- The Embassy of Haiti in Washington responded some days ago to the several protest letters that he/she received after our call.

- Funredes has just responded to the Embassy, starting from the informations that it has been able to collect, to refute its arguments of defense of the measure of closing the main one and first ISP from the country to historical level.

On the other hand, the President of the Society Internet manifested his concern and he informed us that he wrote to the Embassy of Haiti in Washington.
