Encuentro de cr�ticos literarios

      CONFERENCIA
SANTO DOMINGO.-

La Secretar�a de la Mujer, a trav�s de su centro de documentaci�n y
g�nero Abiga�l Mej�a, y la Biblioteca Nacional organizan en el pa�s
la IX Conferencia Internacional de la Asociaci�n de Cr�ticos y
Escritoras del Caribe (Association of Caribbean Women Writers and
Scholars, Inc.) en ocasi�n de la VII Feria Internacional del Libro de
Santo Domingo 2004.
La conferencia, que tendr� como t�tulo Po�ticas de liberaci�n en la
escritura caribe�a: g�nero y re-configuraci�n de naciones, se
realizar� del 26 al 30 de abril. Participar�n 179 cr�ticos y cr�ticas
provenientes de centros de investigaci�n y universidades de 23 naciones.
Entre los objetivos est� facilitar un encuentro de escritoras,
estudiosas y estudiosos de las cuatro �reas ling��sticas del Caribe
(inglesa, francesa, espa�ola, holandesa) que promueva un lugar com�n
para la introspecci�n.

Detalles

Adem�s procura beneficiarse de la ubicaci�n de la conferencia en
Rep�blica Dominicana para de esta forma llegar a conocer m�s sobre sus
escritoras, al igual que su cultura, y patrimonio social, literario e
hist�rico, y reconocer los poderes creativos especiales y el potencial
de las naciones vecinas.
Entre los pa�ses que participar�n con delegaciones est�n Barbados,
Brasil, Canad�, Colombia, Cuba, Estados Unidos, Finlandia, Francia,
Grenada, Guadalupe, Guyana Francesa, Holanda, Hait�, Inglaterra, Italia,
Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Rep�blica Dominicana, St. Croix, Sud�frica,
Tanzania, Trinidad y T�rtola. Tambi�n estar�n 12 escritoras del Caribe
espa�ol, ingl�s, franc�s y brasile�o.
Los temas a tratar en este encuentro de especialistas del Caribe son
Iconicidad, tradiciones y reconfiguraciones de g�nero, Cr�nicas de la
subjetividad femenina y Po�ticas de liberaci�n para el siglo 21, y
Cruces caribe�os: c�nones, lenguaje, g�nero.
Adem�s, Cine y la participaci�n de la mujer, Teatro y autor�a y
participaci�n de la Mujer, Textos femeninos de la di�spora caribe�a:
re/lecturas interpretativas, y Nuevas direcciones: est�ticas reggae,
rastafarian u otros sistemas culturales de creencias: vud�, santer�a,
shango, pacomania/kumina, entre otros.
