"Korean Software Firm Wants Volunteer Cyber Dwellers

A Korean computer software developer is advertising for volunteers prepared to spend 18 months living their lives exclusively through the internet. People prepared to take on the challenge are expected to give up their daily lives and replace them with a web-based existence. "We are organizing the event to help make the world an easier place to live in through the internet," said Oh Kwang Shik, spokesman for software company LAS21.

For the whole 18 months, participants will have to use internet services for all daily needs including e-shopping, online movies, chat lines and even electronic health checks. LAS21 will rent a house on the outskirts of Seoul to accommodate the web-dwellers and has set aside a 30 million won ($26,000) budget to pay any bills they may run up through the internet.

Applications, which are open both to Koreans and foreigners, close on February 20 with the cyber-existence scheduled to start on March 1."
