In which language did the idea begin?
In English you can have "Play on words" "juego de
palabras" which is a pun, a double-entendre. In
French and Portuguese the idea seems to have
moved away from "games" to stakes and challenges,
unless I am missing an idiom which is more than likely :-(
However it translates it's a fascinating puzzle,
and another reminder of how "slippery" our common medium of words can be.
My own favourite is "breccia" (which I cannot
find in the dictionary but I am sure I have seen)
which so much more graphically and forcefully
than "divide", when coupled with the word
"digital", describes the situation in the South.
Happy weekend to everyone
