With apologies to the automatic translation system :-)
It is just SO stupid. I belong to several regional discussion groups -
Mistica, Civic, and another temporary one about Free and Open Source
Software FOSS - and everyone is talking about the same things, especially
currently, but in English, or in French and Spanish. I think the English
speakers are the worst but ...
There is so much information which should be crossing what the Anglophones
politely describe as a "divide", but what the others more correctly call a
"breach". And it is not the haves and have nots of technology who are
separated, it's the technology people themselves. And it's OUR OWN FAULT.
And I feel really ashamed and frustrated.
So - Civic, join Mistica. Mistica, join Civic. OSS Seminar people - share
your information with the wider group. Indymedia is an issue for all of us.
Latin America has done lots of things with OSS. You don't even need to say
anything - just listening can be really useful. And if you do want to speak
you can do it in your own language in whichever forum.
