MISTICA: RE: MISTICA-T: Re: Multilinguismo en Internet

I keep arguing here at meetings, as recently as last Saturday, that in
the Caribbean and Latin America colonialism continues through language.
But the answer I receive is generally "most people speak English on the
Internet, therefore everyone ought to".
This is a little different to the point made by Victor and Daniel, but I
think definitely related. Language is a major influence in the
perception of self and other. We can therefore also relate it to "TIC y
paz" :-)
So UNESCO must be persuaded to be careful :-)
I debated about whether I should try to write this in Spanish, but
deliberately chose English in the spirit of "multilinguismo"
Meanwhile I will continue to struggle with the Mistica 2 debate.
Puedes hablar mas despacio, por favor? :-)
Mejores deseos

Please remember this quotation; my husband says that I should attribute the second one not to the grammarian who said it (in Spanish) but to the Bishop of Avila who used it to persuade Queen Isabella
