Media Award “Lifecycle of Knowledge” the world’s
best endowed open source competition.

The St. Gilgen International School in Austria
proudly presents the mid-term of its first
International Media Award. With special emphasis
on communication and media education, the school
supports innovative and creative ideas in the
field of New Media. The theme of the 2006
competition is "Lifecycle of Knowledge".

Until June 1st 2006 Students and Professionals
can submit their work in the categories AUDIO
(Music, Sound-Design), VIDEO (Animations,
Art-Clips, Film), IMAGE (Photography,
Illustration) and INTERACTIVE (Games, Software,
Websites). Prizes include two main prizes "Best
Media Contribution" of 10.000 EUR each, six
prizes "Best Contribution per Category" of 3.000
EUR each and scholarships at the St. Gilgen International School.

All entries are under the Creative Commons
Licence and free for further development. An
international Open Source Network and Archives
will be established, containing the best ideas
about specific topics such as the transfer of
knowledge and ideas, collective intelligence and
collaborative work platforms. This provides
fertile ground for the development and evolution
of new ideas. Join the New Media World and
develop with us great ideas for the future
