This decision was made by the Ministry >of Foreign Affairs. > >Josh We received your mails with a total astonishment and we request urgently more information. 1. Astonishment: - Howcome IANA may not follow its own rules written and described in RFC 1591 which clearly states that the procedure in case of disagreement about a TLD is the following: > 4) Significantly interested parties in the domain should agree that > the designated manager is the appropriate party. > > The IANA tries to have any contending parties reach agreement > among themselves, and generally takes no action to change things > unless all the contending parties agree; only in cases where the > designated manager has substantially mis-behaved would the IANA > step in. 2) Information - We request a copy of the government communication you are using to justify such a surprising decision. At least we need the name of the government administration and person which authored the fax. AND THIS, AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. (fax: (509) 45-3673 or (509) 45-7699) In consequence, we ask the IANA to strictly respects the rules which are defined by itself about attribution of TLDs and especially, we ask IANA to stop the process of redelegating the TLD HT to FOCUS DATA. On our side, we'l take contact with the concerned parties to obtain more informations about the situation and to search a local and national agreement, in the right line of the statments concerning TLD delegation and administration. FYI: Your decision come after we have call for a meeting of all the involved parties (including MCI branch here and government OFFICIAL representative) to organize the steps towards a national consortium and you must HOLD it, at least til this meeting be concluded.
