V encuentro con las artes del Caribe
El arte caribe�o en sus diferentes manifestaciones estar� presente a
partir de este viernes, cuando se abran las puertas del Museo de Arte
Moderno (MAM) para dejar formalmente inaugurada la V Bienal del Caribe.

Para dar a conocer algunos detalles sobre este importante evento
cultural, Sarah Hermann, directora del Museo de Arte Moderno (MAM), de
maneja conjunta con la Secretar�a de Cultura convoc� a los medios de
comunicaci�n para hacer llegar el mensaje al pa�s. En el encuentro, la
directora del MAM, dijo que en este evento participar�n 28 naciones
caribe�as, con un promedio de cuatro artistas cada uno. Las obras son de
artistas procedentes de Aruba, B�lice, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador,
Guatemala, Nicaragua, Hait�, Honduras, M�xico, Guadalupe, Saint Vicente,
Islas Caim�n, Granada, Islas V�rgenes, Curazao, Saint Mart�n, Surinam y
Rep�blica Dominicana, como pa�s anfitri�n. Expres� que el comit� de
selecci�n de la V Bienal estuvo compuesto por el artista pl�stico Tony
Capell�n, y Deborah Cullen, curadora del Museo del Barrio de Nueva York. En
esta edici�n de la Bienal los artistas, la selecci�n dominicana integra
junto con los proyectos de fotograf�as, escultores, instaladores,
dibujantes, pintores y todas las vertientes de la creaci�n pl�stico-visual,
indic�.
As� mismo, dijo que en este encuentro cultural se va a caracterizar por
la abundancia de obras que se sirven de tecnolog�a moderna, lo que da fe
del alto grado de sofisticaci�n que han alcanzado los artistas de la
regi�n, as� como por la presencia de muchos de ellos en el pa�s, quienes
vendr�n para realizar o supervisar el montaje de sus trabajos personalmente.
Adem�s, la Bienal contar� con la exposici�n de concursantes en varias
plantas del Museo, con una cadena de exposiciones paralelas y actividades
en diferentes puntos de la ciudad; as� mismo de dos d�as de encuentros
te�ricos, el s�bado 8 y el domingo 9, en la tarde y la ma�ana, en los que
se tratar� el tema de percepci�n de los caribe�o a trav�s del arte, que
ser� abordado por destacados especialistas en el arte de la regi�n.
La representaci�n dominicana est� integrada por Jhonny Bonelly con la
instalaci�n Co�o Clark; Jos� Cestero con la serie Calleja, Polibio D�az
con las fotograf�as Interiores, Quisqueya Henr�quez con la
audio-instalaci�n Sof�, Pascal Meccariello con la video-instalaci�n El
canal de los impulsos, C�sar Mieses con las fotograf�as Las chancletas de
Angie I, II, III, Raquel Paiewonsky con la escultura Sin t�tulo, Shampoo.
Colectivo de artistas, Maurice S�nchez, Mario D�valos, Miguel Cana�n, �ngel
Rosario, con la escultura El descubrimiento de la 70, Eli� Almonte, con el
video Volteao y desenrrollao, Jorge Gonz�lez Fonseca con el video Ojo por
ojo; Mart�n L�pez, con el video Monovideogr�fico; David P�rez, con el video
y performance Max-Caras versus cabellera.

V encounter with the arts of the Caribbean
The Caribbean art in its different manifestations will be present
starting from this Friday, when the doors of the Museum of Modern Art open
up (MAM) to leave formally inaugurated the Biennial V of the Caribbean.

To give to know some details on this important cultural event, Sarah
Hermann, director of the Museum of Modern Art (MAM), of it manages combined
with the Secretary of Culture it summoned to the media to make arrive the
message to the country. In the encounter, the director of the MAM, said
that in this event they will participate 28 Caribbean nations, with an
average of four artists each one. The works belong to artists coming from
Aruba, B�lice, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua,
Haiti, Honduras, Mexico, Guadalupe, Saint Vicente, Islands Cayman, Granada,
Virgin Islands, Curazao, Saint Martin, Surinam and Republic Of the
Dominican Republic, as country host. It expressed that the committee of
selection of the Biennial V was compound for the plastic artist Tony
Chaplain, and Deborah Cullen, healer of the Museum of the Neighborhood of
New York. In this edition of the Biennial one the artists, the selection of
the Dominican Republic integrates together with the projects of pictures,
sculptors, installers, designers, painters and all the slopes of the
plastic-visual creation, it indicated.
Likewise, he/she said that in this cultural encounter it will
characterize for the abundance of works that you/they are served as modern
technology, what gives faith of the high degree of sophistication that the
artists of the region have reached, as well as for the presence of many of
them in the country who you/they will come to carry out or to supervise the
assembly of their works personally.
Also, the Biennial one will have the exhibition of contestants in
several plants of the Museum, with a chain of parallel exhibitions and
activities in different points of the city; likewise of two days of
theoretical encounters, on Saturday 8 and on Sunday 9, in the afternoon and
the morning, in those that it will be the topic of perception of the
Caribbean one through the art that will be approached by outstanding
specialists in the art of the region.
The representation of the Dominican Republic is integrated by Jhonny
Bonelly with the installation Co�o Clark; Jos� Cestero with the series
Alley, Polibio D�az with the Interior pictures, Quisqueya Henr�quez with
the audio-installation Sofa, Pascal Meccariello with the video-installation
The channel of the impulses, Caesar Crops with the pictures The chancletas
of Angie I, II, III, Raquel Paiewonsky with the sculpture Without title,
Shampoo. Collective of artists, Maurice S�nchez, Mario D�valos, Miguel

L'art antillais dans ses manifestations diff�rentes sera pr�sent
commencer de ce vendredi, quand les portes du Mus�e d'Art Moderne ouvert en

Donner pour savoir des d�tails sur cet �v�nement culturel important,
Sarah Hermann, directeur du Mus�e d'Art Moderne (MAM), de lui dirige
combin� avec le Secr�taire de Culture il a appel� au m�dia pour faire
arrivez le message au pays. Dans la rencontre, le directeur du MAM, a dit
que dans cet �v�nement ils participeront 28 nations antillaises, avec une
moyenne de quatre artistes chacun. Les travaux appartiennent � artistes qui
viennent d'Aruba, B�lice, Colombie, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala,
Nicaragua, Ha�ti, Honduras, Mexique, Guadalupe, Saint Vicente, Ca�man
d'�les, Granada, �les Vierges, Curazao, Saint Martin, Surinam et R�publique

l'h�te de pays. Il a exprim� que le comit� de s�lection du V Biennal �tait
compos� pour l'artiste Tony Chaplain plastique, et Deborah Cullen,
gu�risseur du Mus�e du Voisinage de New York. Dans cette �dition du Biennal
les artistes, la s�lection du R�publique Dominicaine int�gre avec les
projets d'images, sculpteurs, installateurs, dessinateurs, peintres et
toutes les inclinaisons de la cr�ation plastique visuelle, il a indiqu�.
�galement, les il/elle ont dit que dans cette rencontre culturelle il
caract�risera pour l'abondance de travaux que les you/they sont servis
comme technologie moderne, ce qui donne foi du haut degr� de sophistication
que les artistes de la r�gion ont atteint, aussi bien que pour la pr�sence
de beaucoup d'eux dans le pays que les you/they viendront porter dehors ou
surveiller l'assembl�e de leurs travaux personnellement.
Aussi, le Biennal aura l'exposition d'adversaires dans plusieurs plantes
du Mus�e, avec une cha�ne d'expositions parall�les et activit�s dans points
diff�rents de la ville,; �galement de deux jours de rencontres th�oriques,
samedi 8 et dimanche 9, l'apr�s-midi et le matin, dans ceux que ce sera le
sujet de perception de l'antillais � travers l'art qui sera approch� par
les sp�cialistes remarquables dans l'art de la r�gion.
