Voces sensibles en congreso sobre literatura en el Caribe

Propiciar un foro de discusi�n sobre la literatura contempor�nea del
Caribe latino o hispano, desde las islas y desde el exilio, fue uno de
los objetivos del Congreso de Literatura Contempor�nea del Caribe
Hispano que se celebr� en Santiago de los Caballeros del 22 al 24 de
abril para tratar las tendencias actuales en la literatura de Cuba,
Puerto Rico y Rep�blica Dominicana.

Rosa Silverio, Taty Hern�ndez y Luis C�rdova, ataron los cabos del men�
literario que abri� hueco entre el centenar de actividades enroladas en
el Festival Arte Vivo abanderado como �Fiesta del Esp�ritu Caribe�.

El Congreso de Literatura Contempor�nea del Caribe Hispano fue una
exposici�n literaria amparada en la confortabilidad del Centro Le�n. Los
exponentes delinearon los criterios sobre la siembra y cosecha literaria
de los pa�ses caribe�os con acento y color hispano.

La cita con escritores y escritoras de distintas edades y formas de ver
la vida, inici� el jueves 22 a las 4:00 de la tarde y se extiende hasta
hoy s�bado culminando al alba del domingo 25.

Jos� Fern�ndez Peque�o, Luis Beiro, Camilo Venegas y Alfonso Qui�ones
iniciaron con �Desencuentros y distancias en la narrativa cubana
actual�, �La literatura en el cine cubano de la revoluci�n�, �La
literatura cubana: un espejo sin paciencia� y �Perspectiva de la d�cima
en la literatura cubana�.

Al d�a siguiente, Freddy Ginebra present� las obras premiadas de Casa de
Teatro, y Daisy Cocco recorri� �La poes�a antillana en Nueva York�,
mientras que, sus colegas de votos y vocaci�n Virgilio L�pez y Miguel
Phipps disertaron sobre �Las tendencias actuales en la literatura de las
regiones Sur y Este del pa�s�, Pedro Antonio Valdez sobre �Los
escritores del Cibao y los nuevos retos de los creadores dominicanos�
mientras que �ngela Hern�ndez convers� sobre el proyecto �La isla que se
cuenta: Rep�blica Dominicana y Hait�.

En Jos� Luis Vega, Eugenio Garc�a Cuevas y Pedro Cabiya pes� la
responsabilidad de ofrecer una �Visi�n general de la literatura
contempor�nea en Puerto Rico� y ellos, con tal de no defraudar al
auditorio, anunciaron las ponencias �Pal�s Matos y Evaristo Chevremont,
dos po�ticas antillanas�, �La isla y su env�s� y �Narrativa
puertorrique�a contempor�nea�, respectivamente.

El dominicano N�stor Rodr�guez clausurar� el Congreso con la conferencia
�Las po�ticas de la enrancia en la imaginaci�n literaria de las Antillas�.

Recital �Voces del Caribe�

La gente consagrada a la literatura tambi�n decidi� renovar sus votos,
al aire libre, en esta primavera que colorea la existencia.

Hoy, �ltimo atardecer de Arte Vivo, en la tarima Portal De Artistas (s�,
en la callecita de la Benito Monci�n) podr�n apreciarse la sarta de
emociones convertidas en poemas y cuentos cortos en las voces de Jos�

dedicado al centenario de Pablo Neruda y a los criollos h�roes de la

Carmen Imbert Brugal expone �Caribe, mujer y literatura� 2:04:00 AM

La escritora y periodista dominicana Carmen Imbert Brugal dar� apertura
oficial, como oradora principal, en la Novena Conferencia Internacional
de Escritoras y Cr�ticos Literarios del Caribe, con una disertaci�n
titulada �Caribe, mujer y literatura�, el pr�ximo lunes 26 de abril a
las 8:00 de la noche en la Sala �Juan Francisco Garc�a � del
Conservatorio Nacional de M�sica.

A la disertaci�n asistir�n 179 invitados extranjeros provenientes de 23
naciones del mundo, entre el Caribe, Norteam�rica, Europa y �frica.

Carmen Imbert Brugal es, sin duda, no s�lo una autoridad en los medios
de comunicaci�n escritos y electr�nicos de la Rep�blica Dominicana, sino
adem�s una de nuestras m�s notables juristas en asuntos de g�nero, y una
de la m�s brillantes intelectuales dominicanas.

Su praxis cotidiana y en la vida p�blica no se intimida ante el poder ni
la imposici�n grupal. Excelente redactora del matutino HOY, Imbert
Brugal ejerce un periodismo de opini�n, un periodismo solidario, sin
esquivar la responsabilidad de la denuncia y la confrontaci�n. Ella es,
si se puede llamar de alguna manera, una cronista que acosa a los
retorcimientos de los sujetos que desde la esfera del Estado llevan de
s� mismo un archivo de la simulaci�n.

Es autora de la colecci�n de relatos Infidencias (1986), las novelas
Distinguida se�ora (1995) y Volver al fr�o (Editora Norma, 2003). Desde
