II.- CONGRESS PRE-REGISTRATION
This pre-registration document will make it possible for the Secretariat of the Congress to send each Congress participant the final registration form, detailed information, air fares, a hotel booking form and tourist information.
LEBANESE VISAS : You will need to apply for a Lebanese visa from the nearest Lebanese Consulate or Embassy. This formality may take a certain amount of time to complete.
AIR TRAVEL : Special air fares available to Congress participants from major world capitals to Beirut, Lebanon, will be listed on the final registration form.
ARRIVAL AND TRANSFER : In order to be met at the airport and provided with transport to your hotel, please communicate the date and time of your arrival.
ACCOMMODATION: The final registration form, which will be sent to you upon receipt of this document, contains all relevant information for hotel reservations (list of hotels, rates). In view of the volume of tourism in Lebanon and the discussion topics proposed to Congress participants, it is preferable to make advance reservations.
INSURANCE : The organisers of the Congress can bear no responsibility for loss of goods or for accidents. It is therefore recommended to take out private insurance.
WEATHER : June is early summer in Lebanon (24°C). Many people like to make excursions into the mountains surrounding Beirut, especially in the evening for dinner: sweaters are advisable.
SIGHTSEEING : Following the Congress, a local tourist agency will be offering a number of excursions to Congress participants and persons accompanying them. These will include visits to Beirut and surrounding areas (Byblos), to Tripoli, Baalbek and Tyr, and also to neighbouring countries (Jordan, Syria)
